A system, not a theory
Five pillars that reorder a man's life from the center: Christ. Not as religion — as government. A man with no inner government governs badly everything he touches.

Everything starts with where you govern from. If Christ is not at the center, something else is: urgency, fear, ego, money, approval — something always occupies the throne. The foundational pillar is surrendering the center, and it does not happen by accident: it is a decision repeated, day after day.
What actually governs your daily decisions?

The most immediate legacy is the one you leave at home. The man who governs his family poorly governs everything else poorly, no matter what the business numbers say. Success at work does not offset disorder at home: order is not control, order is right government.
If your family described your real priority, would they say it comes before or after the company?

The company should work for you, not you for it. When the company is a prison, you do not have a business: you have a self-imposed job you cannot resign from. A healthy company produces value, serves people, generates provision, frees time and multiplies leaders — it does not devour marriage, children, health and soul.
Does your company free you or imprison you? What stops immediately if you do not answer for 48 hours?

Great decisions are rare, but small daily practices build or destroy everything. The man you are in public is the product of the man you are when nobody is watching. Daily discipline is not an attempt to earn God's love: it is a steward's response, because grace does not call us into disorder — it teaches us to come back.
Your calendar reveals a founder's real theology: what does your calendar say you actually worship?

What matters is not what you accumulate, but what remains after you are gone. There is work the fire burns and work the fire purifies. Eternal legacy is not posthumous vanity: it is stewardship to the end, and the steward will give an account to the Lord.

The Seven Gates of the Heart
What you look at determines what you desire. What you desire determines what you chase.
Words are power — in the concrete sense that they shape reality. The words you speak about your company form its culture; the words about your wife form your marriage; the words about your children form who they believe they are.
How you spend your time reveals where your heart is. Not what you say you prioritize — what you actually prioritize when the calendar rules.
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). Money is a precise spiritual indicator: look at where you spend and you will see where your heart is — not what you say you value, but what you actually fund.
Pride is the most treacherous gate because it is the one the intruder uses when the founder isn't looking. It comes in through competence — "I'm the one who built this"; through success — "my results qualify me not to need counsel"; through favorable comparison — "at least I'm better than that guy." Pride closes a man off to learning, to correction, and to dependence on God.
Exhaustion is the gate the enemy most likes to use — because the tired man has no guard, no sharp discernment, no patience, no clarity to make decisions that will last. The chronically exhausted founder makes decisions he regrets, says words he would not say rested, gives in to temptations he would resist with more strength.
Comparison is the quietest thief of peace and purpose. It steals in two directions: upward, it produces envy and discontent — "why does he have what I don't?"; downward, it produces pride and complacency — "at least I'm doing better than that guy." In both directions, comparison takes a man out of his own race and puts him in someone else's — and when you are running another man's race, you can never win, because it was not designed for you.
